
Jazmine was raised and born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam Her mother, who was a former backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. Her father gave her the position of curator of the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She together with her family then relocated into the landmark. In 2005, a Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduate, she is a major in the field of vocal music. Sullivan played the contralto singer for the children's choir and then in the years later, she was a singer in the adult choir. Sullivan wasn't exposed to secular music initially. "I began singing in solos at church and a person was urging me to sign up to record a gospel song at the age of 11. But I wasn't ready to go through with it," she says. "Then the time came that McDonald's was hosting a contest for youngsters in the major cities, I got a chance to sing 'Accept Whatever God Does' on Showtime at the Apollo and the audience loved it". Stevie Wonder sang her part on his birthday, 13 years old. Sullivan was signed initially to Jive Records at the age fifteen. In Jive Records, she made the entire album but the album never came out. Sullivan was later eliminated on the labels. The singer maintained a relationship with Missy Elliott who wrote and recorded several tracks from her debut, such as the brash single "Backstabbers" that was written and produced by Timbaland and written by Elliott.
